e-Learning Centers
The University of Baltimore and Towson University are committed to excellence in online learning. Both universities have state of the art eLearning Centers to ensure our MBA courses utilize the latest in educational technology.
The University of Baltimore
The e-Learning Center (eLC) supports current, state-funded, e-learning activities at the University of Baltimore. The eLC uses its private resources and grant funds to stimulate the further development of e-learning at UB through activities directed at faculty, staff, and students. The e-Learning Center:
- Administers UBOnline, the e-learning environment at UB, and maintains UB’s fully online and web-enhanced courses. With the implementation of PeopleSoft, the eLC’s role has expanded to include the integration of the e-learning environment with the administrative systems environment and a campus-wide portal.
- Provides a state-of-the-art course management system, a stable and redundant server environment, 24/7 user support, and training for faculty and students through a combination of campus-based and contracted resources
Offers one-on-one and small-group e-learning tools training. - Communicates with the UB campus community through periodic reports, bulletins, and email.
- Sponsors workshops and conferences to bring leading thinkers and practitioners in the e-learning field to UB to interact with faculty, staff, and students.
- Seeks opportunities to collaborate on e-learning initiatives with other educational institutions, learning organizations, and technology partners.
Towson University
Towson University's Digital Media Classroom (DMC) is one of the newest technology systems for delivering instructional content in the natural setting of a face-to-face classroom while being able to reach students at a distance (synchronously and asynchronously). Using digital media, the entire instructional unit is monitored, video recorded, archived and simultaneously delivered through the oversight of a technician at the back of the room. With little advanced preparation by the professor, we are able to create an atmosphere much like a traditional classroom where all the instructor needs to worry about is teaching! Professors can record lectures to later stream for online courses. To learn more please visit the DMC site.
