Dual-Degree Program
M.B.A./M.A.J.E. in Jewish Eduation with Baltimore Hebrew University
The purpose of the M.A.J.E./M.B.A. dual degree program is to facilitate the integration of these two academic programs to prepare students to be professional leaders for the Jewish Community of the 21st century. Through a sharing of elective credits and flexible scheduling, students will earn the Master of Arts in Jewish Education (M.A.J.E.) and the Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degrees in less time than would be required if program requirements were completed separately.
To obtain the MAJE degree, students must earn 39 credits. The 51-credit M.B.A. curriculum includes 18 credits in business fundamentals, 21 credits in integrated core courses and 12 credits of electives to give depth to the program.
Baltimore Hebrew University will allow students to use 9 credits but no less than 6 credits obtained in the University of Baltimore/Towson University M.B.A. Program toward fulfilling their M.A.J.E. course requirements. The UB/Towson M.B.A. Program will accept up to 9 credits but no less than 6 credits of pre-approved M.A.J.E. courses with administrative/management components toward fulfilling the M.B.A. elective coursework.
Admission and Advisement
Each school will award its own degree and will have its own admissions
process. Students considering participation in the program are encouraged
to discuss their interest with representatives of both schools. Application
deadlines and admission requirements for both schools are consistent with
their current academic programs.
BHU students interested in participating in the dual degree program and
who have already achieved an undergraduate degree may apply for entrance
to the UB/Towson M.B.A. Program; application during the first year of
the M.A.J.E. is preferable. Application during the second year of the
M.A.J.E. will be considered on a case by case basis. The business school
application is competitive and admission is not guaranteed to M.A.J.E.
students. M.A.J.E. students are encouraged to discuss their motivation
to be trained in both disciplines as part of their personal statement.
Similarly, students in the MBA program who wish to apply to the M.A.J.E.
program are not guaranteed admission.
